When it comes to kitchen appliances, no kitchen is complete without the two in one Hamilton Beach Toastation. This unique appliance offers much more than other toaster ovens. While the top of the appliance operates as a two or four slice toaster, the lower section is a mini toaster oven.
The top slots are large enough to fit bagels or thick sliced bread, and the mini oven can accommodate two sixteen inch slices of pizza. The appliance is equipped with a crumb tray that is easily removed for cleaning, and an electronic temperature control, and toast shade control. In addition, the toaster oven has an automatic shutoff for added safety.
Instead of taking up two separate areas on the counter, this convenient toaster oven is a multipurpose appliance that sports a traditional toaster with a toaster oven. Oven controls are easy to use dials and the inside of the oven is can hold items that are as thick as two inches.
Typically, the major complaint about the traditional toaster oven is that it fails in its ability to satisfactorily make toast. This toaster oven makes great toast, as expected, since the top of the oven is actually a toaster. In addition, the appliance toasts bread faster than a typical toaster oven.
The oven part of the appliance performs excellently. It is ideal for cooking fish, pizza, and reheating foods. The oven heats up rapidly and cooks foods quick and even. The Toastation is more energy efficient then traditional toaster ovens. For the single person or small family, this unit is sized just right and performs wonderfully.
For anyone who has limited kitchen counter space, the Hamilton Beach Toastation is the ideal appliance. This appliance conveniently combines the traditional toaster and toaster oven to provide you with a multipurpose unit. Even for those full size kitchens, this is an item that is very affordable and makes sense.

Selecting your countertop is vital to completing your kitchen renovation project. Pick the right one and you will have years of enjoyment in your kitchen, pick the wrong one and you will regret ever starting this project.
There are several options to consider when picking your countertop. First, you have to decide on the type of counter top. Among the many options are concrete, granite, linoleum, wood, tile, and many more. You can also combine materials to fit your look and your budget. For instance, you can have a wood base with granite slices adhered to it.
Although rather new on the scene, concrete provides a wide range of options. The concrete can be poured to take on virtually any shape, can be dyed to any shade, and can be stamped to simulate any texture. The downsides are that it can be quite heavy, and if it cracks, it is very difficult to repair it to look acceptable again.
Granite is gaining in popularity and is becoming the go to material for a high-end kitchen. Granite can be found in literally thousands of shades and mottling. It is easy to clean, and maintain. It is very durable and it can last for years without showing any signs of aging. On the other hand, it will be nearly impossible to find replacement pieces that will match your original pieces exactly. Another quality to consider is that since it is so hard, it can be unforgiving when putting down fragile glass with any force.
Wood counter tops, or butcher-block counter tops are a historic choice. These tops can last a long time and can be simply restored to their original look by merely sanding them and resealing them.
This is just a few with the numerous choices for you to think about. Make sure you’ve teamed up with reputable cabinet maker that can take you to a wholesale warehouse where you are able to personally see and feel many of the different types of countertops.

No kitchen remodel or construction is complete without adding new or different kitchen hardware. Brand new hardware can provide the finishing touch to your cabinets and drawers that can make them much more visually appealing and bring together the look while enhancing functionality.
The kitchen hardware that makes the most dramatic impact is knobs and pulls that are affixed to the fronts of drawers and cabinet doors to make them accessible. Proper positioning of the knob or pull is important for installation in order to make the cabinets or drawers more visually appealing - so you’ll need to determine whether the knob should be at the side or the center of the door; for the most part, pulls on drawers are in the center of the drawer’s front.
When it comes to knobs and pulls, there is a wide variety to choose from. You can find something that is ultra chic and modern or something that is classy, classic, and refined. There are vintage knobs and pulls that look like they came straight from the old world. In contrast, there are retro vintage knobs that look great on modern themes.
Hinges for your cabinets should complement the knobs and pulls that you have selected. Be sure to go for heavy duty hinges that can really do the job at hand, especially for heavier grade cabinets that will require extra support for heavy doors. You can typically find hinges that coordinate with your knobs and pulls with the same kitchen hardware retailer.
Although you usually never see these things, drawer slides that you install in your kitchen cabinets are actually quite important. Many cabinets for the kitchen will come with an attached drawer slide, however, some will require you to install one that you purchase yourself.
In sum, installing the best kitchen hardware that you can afford is a good idea because you will be assured of quality products that last long, perform well and add visual appeal to your kitchen.
When looking for brand new kitchen hardware, there are a few things you need to consider first.

Got Kids? You Need Counter Height Bar Stools that are Durable
We moved into our home 5 years ago and the first thing on my to do list was to purchase bar stools. You see we now had a wonderful, large open kitchen to work with. The counter is L shaped and quite spacious. Counter height bar stools would be the perfect addition.
With 3 kids ages 3, 5, and 8, mealtimes were always a lot of work and sometimes stressful. There was so many little chores to do like setting the table and cleaning it after meals. Taking the dishes to the counter and loading the dishwasher. Cleaning the counters and getting all the crumbs and particles from the chairs and the floor took a little time too.
I thought it would be so much easier if the kids could eat right at the kitchen counter sometimes. So I started looking for some cheap counter stools. I found that they were not so cheap, especially online and at the local department stores. We had just gotten into our new home, so the budget was tight.
I was looking for at least three stools and I was not prepared to spend $75 or more per stool. I discovered many styles of stools made of metal or wood. There were several choices in design too. Did I want backs on my stools or footrests at the bottom for support? The list goes on. I was tempted by the 30″ swivel bar stools, but decided that would probably end up in disaster.
The height was a big factor. If you are looking for a stool you have to be sure it is the right height for where you are planning to use it. Too tall and it will be awkward to try and sit and eat. Too short and you won’t be able to reach the counter. It is important to take measurements with you when you go shopping so that you can be sure the stool will work.
I was out on a shopping trip at Walmart when I saw the perfect stools for my kitchen. I just happened to look down the furniture aisle and there they were. I never thought Walmart would have something I liked and for such a great price too. They were only $25 each which meant I was only spending $75 for my entire bar stool purchase. This was fantastic. I didn’t thing Walmart would offer good quality, but I was wrong. These were wooden saddle seat stools with a cherry finish. They were very nice looking and were comfortable too.
I took the stools home after purchasing them and found that I had definitely made the right choice. The fit perfectly with the rest of the kitchen decor and the dining room. They did not swivel so they would be safe seating for the children. The height turned out to be exactly what we needed to be comfortable at the counter.
When we had guests over, they all made nice comments about the stools. They wanted to know where I got them and when I told them, they couldn’t believe it. They were all excited about the price too. Many of them went to Walmart searching for those stools. They wanted a good bargain too.
I think I hit the jackpot that day. The kids can eat comfortably at the counter and the sink and dishwasher are right there for easy clean up. It makes mealtimes less stressful and more enjoyable. Everything is faster and easier and not such a mess. This has been our favorite purchase since we moved in.
