Ways One Can Decide Among Coffee Makers
Coffee makers are common household products, but what many people do not know is that there is not one standard variety. There are four basic types, all producing somewhat different results. This is a guide to help choose between them.
Automatic Drip
In this kind, the user pours water into the top, which is then made to slowly leak down into a filter containing grounds. It passes through the filter and into the pot underneath. The coffee is kept warm by a heating pad. This kind brews quickly and can make more than one cup at the same time, causing a drastic decrease in wait time.
A Single Serve Brewer
This model is ideal for a single coffee drinker, as it can only brew one cup at once. Grounds are bought in already measured packets and are sold in multiple flavors. The user simply must put the packet in the marked slot and add the correct amount of water. No measuring or clean up of coffee grounds is required, making it very quick and easy to use.
A Percolator
This machine is available in many different sizes, and can either be purchased to be used on a stovetop or to be plugged into an outlet. This allows for a lot of variety for different types of kitchens. One sets a basket of coffee grounds just above where the water is. The water heats up, forcing its way through thin tubes into the basket of grounds and out the other side, back down to the bottom.
The French Press
For a coffee aficionado, this may be considered the best kind due to the richness of flavor it creates. The grounds and water are in contact the whole time as they are both placed in the pot. A plunger pushes the grounds to the bottom of the pot and the finished coffee then rises back to the top.
There are different varieties of coffee makers available. All are functional and have their benefits, but it is your choice which is best for you.
