Preparing A Great Cup Of Espresso With The Use Of Espresso Capsules

An espresso is essentially a strong black coffee that has been brewed under intense pressure. It is produced by forcing hot water through very finely ground beans until a concentrated coffee with delicate, chocolate-colored foam, called crema, on top. Since its invention during in 1901 in Italy, espresso has become one of the best-loved forms of coffee that now also comes in variety of forms such as espresso capsules.

Before the existence of espresso machines, coffee lovers around the world go to cafe-espresso in order to have their daily dose of coffee. In this process, coffee is made to order expressly for the person ordering it and usually takes five minutes or more to be prepared. The long wait however led to people wanting faster and more efficient ways of coffee preparation some 100 years ago. This need contributed to the development of the espresso machine in 1901 by Italian inventor Luigi Bezzera. The machine originally employed steam pressure to force water through ground coffee held in clamp-able filters and was the one which began the espresso history.

“Fast coffee machine” was the original name given to the espresso machine. It was however changed to “espresso machine” after some time which is an Italian term which literally means “fast machine”. It was mass produced and introduced to the market by Desiderio Pavoni’s company in 1905 when the patent of said machine was transferred to his name. The espresso machines then produced was based solely on Bezzera’s invention and was distributed outside of Italy which increased the awareness and popularity of espresso around the world. Further improvements were made on the device later on in order to cater to the growing and changing needs of coffee drinkers.

The espresso capsule is a form of which is packed in paper pouches filled with fine-ground coffee. Through this, there is no need to have barista skills and training in order to prepare a perfect cup of espresso as the coffee is already pre measured and pre ground for the drinkers benefit. Coffee grinders which are really expensive are also no longer necessary as the capsule needs to be simply placed in any coffee machine and in just a few minutes, a perfect cup of espresso is already available. These capsules can be normally seen in restaurants in order o minimize the need to training and hiring of baristas.

Being more convenient and practical than traditional espresso, espresso capsules are also much more expensive compared to other forms of this coffee drink. There are also some manufacturers which recommend the use of specific types of coffee machines in order to get the utmost taste of the espresso. However, it is also important to note that despite the ease of preparation when using espresso capsules, many coffee aficionados still prefer the traditional way of preparing espresso as they claim that the very best espresso can only be made by the skilled hands of a trained and experienced barista.

Every corner and streets around the world will not be complete without a cafe or coffee serving restaurant nearby. Coffee has become so popular that more and more people are visit coffee shops each day and many more are resorting to buying espresso machines and espresso capsules in order o have their own special brew at home.
