Describing A French Door Refrigerator

One of the oldest methods to preserve food is by cooling them. To serve as cold storage during the era where refrigerators are non-existent our ancestors dig holes in the ground. Nevertheless, due to the extreme desire to make things convenient humans found a way to preserve food without storing it underneath the ground. The creation of refrigerators was the result of the discovery of the process of refrigeration. The cold temperature inside the ‘fridge’ efficiently keeps the food items fresh. Extending the life of food items like meat and poultry is easier because of its capacity to freeze it.

However, the fridge is not just your regular appliance. Truth is, some households consider their fridge as a form of fashion statement. You read it right, fashion goes beyond clothes and it also involves the things inside our house. A certain style seems to command a certain decade and because the style keeps on changing home interiors also change. Decorations continue to evolve and the same thing goes for home furnishings and electronic appliances such as the fridge.

In the beginning, a fridge only has one big door and one small door inside to serve as covering for the freezer compartment. Usually it is rectangular in shape and the edges are curved. The size is just right, not too big or too small. It seems to be tailor made for a medium sized house. Nonetheless, with each passing year changes in the structure and design took place. The double door fridge came to the limelight after the era of the single door fridge. In a double door fridge, there are two doors with the top door slight smaller than the bottom door. In the smaller door is the freezer where food items are frozen while the bigger door is more of a cooling compartment for other food items and drinks.

In the 21st century, some changes were made on the typical two door fridge. At this point the two doors are now turned into three doors. In addition to that, it goes by the new name of the French Door Refrigerator. The three doors are the main features of the French Door Refrigerator. The two doors open like a closet door while the third door is found at the bottom and opens like a drawer. The drawer compartment is actually the freezer. Like any freezer, this is where food items are stored to be frozen.
