Basic Facts About A Compact Ice Machine

Nothing beats ice cold drinks on a hot summer day. Or even after an intense work out at the gym.. Of course to get a really cold drink requires some or a lot of ice, depending on your mood. Those of us who are lucky enough have a built in ice maker in our refrigerators. But even then, the ice that these built in units make are sometimes lacking in that they do not produce enough, especially if a lot of people want to drink ice cold beverages with ice. Therefore one can consider buying a compact ice machine.

This machine is basically one that just makes ice. Like a regular refrigerator, it produces lower temperatures with the prime goal of just making ice and nothing else. Since it is compact, it can be placed anywhere. Popular places for this device are usually under countertops or under bars. Some can even be placed on the countertop themselves.

The obvious advantage to this machine is its size, alongside its ice making capabilities of course. Since it is compact it can be used optimally for small restaurants, cafes, in the office and also at home. It does not require any additional installation or special skills to make it work. Basically just plug it into the wall and forget about it as it does its job.

Most of these ice machines make ice pretty fast, basically since that is what they are built for. Standard units make around 12 ice cubes every six to eight minutes. That translates to around 120 cubes of ice per hour.

In addition to being able to make a lot of ice, it can also be adjusted to make ice cubes of a certain size also depending on what is needed. Some models also come with a built in water filter. So not only can you get ice, but clean ice as well.

Coming in a variety of finishes, you can choose ice machines depending on your taste. Most common finishes are white, stainless, bisque and titanium. Some come in even brighter and extravagant colors. However, for ease of placement, it is better to choose an ice machine in a neutral finish to avoid headaches on placement so to avoid it standing out and becoming an eyesore.
