Change The Look Of Your Kitchen Without Spending A Fortune
One of the most popular aspects of home remodeling or improvement methods includes the kitchen. There can be a variety of reasons for changing the look of your kitchen, like to increase the resalable value of the house, or to create more space, or simply to improve the aesthetics of the place. Here are some ideas for ways to change the look of your kitchen, some of which are surprisingly inexpensive.
One of the first options might be painting the walls a different color. Or if you don’t want to go to all that trouble, you can add some special effect to the paint that already exists. For example, you can add a color wash over top of it. Find a color that is in the same family as the color that’s there, but in a contrasting tint, and then dip a cloth into it and wash it lightly over the wall, creating patterns if you wish. Or you could get a sponge and dab the contrasting color on instead. You would still need to tape off all your edges and cover things you didn’t want to get splattered, but you wouldn’t spend as much as you would on a full coat of paint.
You could also change the backsplash along your counters and behind the sink or stove. If it doesn’t go all the way up, add something to the top in a different or contrasting material or color. If it does go all the way up, add a tile border at the bottom. If you have a backsplash of plain square ceramic tiles, get a stencil and some waterproof paint, and paint designs in the center of alternating tiles.
Remodeling a kitchen can be a bit overwhelming, so keep in mind that you will want to have a lot of resources available to you while the project is being undertaken. For example, there are many online resources that can help you organize your remodel. There are free programs that you can find online that will help throughout each step of the process. From creating a budget to completing the project on time, an online project organizer is the way to go. Organizing all the steps beforehand will only create peace and a productive project in the end.
Kitchen remodeling doesn’t have to be an expensive process. With just a few changes, you can increase the beauty of your home, as well as the utility. It can be a real source of enjoyment for you and the entire household.
Another terrific way to update the look of your kitchen and free up counter space at the same time is to install a microwave range hood. These units sit just over the stove for added cooking convenience, and they also clean or exhaust the cooking odors in the room.
