Blender - Just The Right Food Processor

I don’t know what I would do without my blender. A healthy mix of tofu and fruit smoothie is what we drink every morning to begin our day full of vigor. I will usually add chlorophyll or spirulina powder to the mix along with astralagus root powder to boost the immune system. If you’re not used to drinking soy, or don’t even like it, almond milk, yogurt, rice milk or coconut milk will do. Coconut milk actually tastes delicious when added to a pineapple smoothie. Occasionally, I even add a tablespoon of almond or peanut butter to the mixture. This healthy smoothie alone, can pack up a lot of energy for our body making us on the go for hours. We also like yogurt strawberry smoothies. There are hundreds of recipes for smoothies, and it is personal preference as to what kind you choose to make. Know your health requirements and include ingredients in your smoothie that suits your lifestyle, diet and taste . You can prepare smoothies to enhance your body’s defenses and well-being, increase strength and endurance, improve mental alertness, or as a relaxing refreshment. It is remarkable to recognize that in 1922, the earliest blender, was used to supply malts and milk shakes at soda fountains. Thanks to the genius of this remarkable invention by the name of Stephen J. Poplawski. In 1937, the Waring Blender, previously known as the Miracle Mixer, was revealed. Priced at $29.75, it sold over a million pieces for seventeen years.

Blenders are present in merely every kitchen or was once there. Liquids are produced as a result of the blender’s processes - chopping, grinding and pureeing. Aside from smoothies, pancakes, bouillabaisse, frappes and frozen alcoholic drinks can also be created. Obviously, this is all the fun part. The part where not too many people take pleasure of is the cleaning portion.

There are several means to maintain your blender’s cleanliness and seamless performance. If the blender is not cleaned right, food particles that often get caught in between the blades remain in the bottom. It will be susceptible for bacteria growth and will surely affect the freshness of your ingredients.

Most blenders come apart. I recognized that most people, even though they washed their jars already, they fail to remove the food particles stuck on the blender’s blades and in the bottom. Hence, there are product guides of the blender for you to follow - regular maintenance and proper storage. Be extremely careful in handling the sharp blades for this can cut you. Put soap in warm water and use a dishcloth or sponge. Soap all the little parts and wash well. Dishwashers are tough for blenders and sometimes graze the plastic or glass of the blender. I suggest you hand wash your blender. A baking soda solution is useful for removing calcified and tainted particles inside the blender. The combination is 50 percent water and 50 percent baking soda.

I possess two blenders. The first blender is used for concocting food whereas the second one is used to make beauty creams and lotions. My skin cream consists of aloe, vitamins A, E and C. A few drops of essential oil whether lavender, rosemary or geranium is added to my skin cream recipe. I add a small amount of shea butter and olive oil in my cream during the cold and dry season. To preserve my skin cream mixtures, I add one drop of grapefruit seed extract. A skin care product from these concoction is nearly as pure a product you can get as all ingredients are of natural produce.

So start your day with a nutritional smoothie or drink, and end it with an organic treat for your skin. You will notice a difference in how you feel and look.
